Claiming Pupil Premium is straight-forward and provides the school with additional funding that will benefit your child.
The Pupil Premium Grant provides schools with additional funding which is on top of the main funding that the school receives. The purpose of the Pupil Premium Grant is to ensure that children from disadvantaged backgrounds benefit from the same opportunities as children from less deprived backgrounds. At Ashmount we strongly believe that it is not about where you come from but your passion and thirst for knowledge, and your willingness to take risks, make mistakes and learn from these and to continue to persevere with your learning. We are determined to ensure that our children are given every chance to realise their full potential. The Pupil Premium Grant helps us to provide children from disadvantaged backgrounds with the best start in their educational journey.
If you are in receipt of certain state benefits, work in the armed services, or have adopted a child from care, then your child may qualify for the Pupil Premium Grant. The Pupil Premium grant entitles your child to free school meals, discounts on school events, including educational visits and priority for a number of extra-curricular clubs. The Pupil Premium Grant also provides the school with additional money that we can use to provide enrichment opportunities or offer additional learning support for our children focused on their academic or personal/social needs.
